BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A road near the site where a Berkeley County teen was shot to death nearly three years ago has been dedicated in her memory.
Berkeley County Council dedicated Ambassador Avenue to Ariel Elaine Morgan Monday night during the regular council meeting.
The teen’s friends and family stood beside Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis and other county leaders as Ariel’s life was honored.
During the evening of June 7th, 2014, violence broke out during a block party in the Moncks Corner area of Berkeley County. Multiple shots were fired among a crowd of hundreds of attendees.
As a result, 19-year-old Ariel Morgan, who was an innocent bystander at the party, was shot and fatally wounded.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office detectives have worked countless hours on this case but no one has yet to come forward with information sufficient to seek prosecution.
In April 2016, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry announced that the reward in the Ariel Morgan shooting incident has increased to $10,000, with an additional $1,000 being donated by an anonymous private donor.
Anyone who may have been at the party or may be privy to “street talk” which might help the detectives solve this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 1-888-CRIME-SC (1-888-274-6372) or 843-554-1111.
Information leading to the identity of the person or persons responsible could earn a sizeable reward.
