GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–Goose Creek City Council honored artist Leena Karambelkar at its Tuesday, April 11 meeting.
Karambelkar, pictured with Mayor Michael Heitzler, is this year’s Goose Creek Artist Guild Purchase Award Winner for her Mixed Media Painting “Nirvana.”
The painting was presented at the meeting and will be displayed at City Hall.
“I feel fortunate to live in this beautiful Lowcountry where there is inspiration at every step,” Karambelkar writes on her website. “My paintings also have influence of me growing up in India. The colors, the traditions, and the languages every bit of Indian culture shows through my paintings.”
