NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.–The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has identified the worker killed in an accident at the KapStone Paper Mill on Virginia Avenue in North Charleston Sunday night.
His name is Lawrence Shiner, 60, of Moncks Corner. Another person was sent to a nearby hospital. His injuries are unknown at this time.
The incident reportedly occurred while maintenance work was being done at the plant, representatives for the company stated.
Authorities have not said what triggered the accident.
The North Charleston Fire Department and Charleston County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the incident.
