BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Authorities with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office say they are actively looking for 35-year-old Troy Lamont Wiley in connection to the Monday shooting death of his wife.
The Berkeley County Coroner has not yet released the identity of the victim.
Wiley is currently wanted for her murder and is considered armed and dangerous, Chief Deputy Mike Cochran stated.
His wife was found deceased at a residence in the Summerville area earlier today.
Wiley is believed to be driving a gray Dodge Durango bearing SC tag NGL524 registered to his wife.
He is also believed to be in the possession of a Smith & Wesson M&P .40 caliber semi-auto handgun.
Wiley may be in the Goose Creek, SC or Dorchester County, SC area.
There is a possibility that he was on the way to one of the College Park schools to pick up a child. The three schools–College Park Elementary, College Park Middle and Stratford High–were placed on an administrative lockdown as a precautionary measure. Additional law enforcement is at the schools as well.
According to Goose Creek Police Major John Grainger, the suspect’s daughter attends Stratford High School.
“There is no verified information to suggest that the suspect intends to come to Stratford HS – these measures are precautionary because the suspect has yet to be located,” stated Grainger.
Please contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (Detective Ward) at 843-719-4344 with any information on Wiley’s location.
Court records show that he has had past run-ins with the law. Most recently, Berkeley County deputies arrested him in September 2016 for Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature.
