HANAHAN, S.C.–A GoFundMe page has been created for a family whose home was destroyed by a fire Wednesday. Their pet dog also died in the blaze.
“I hate to see this happen to yet another family in the neighborhood,” posted the founder of the GoFundMe page, Nicole Bullard. “I was hoping we could all come together as a community and get this family what they need, like the essentials! Any donation will help.”
Bullard is hoping to raise at least $5,000. Since starting the online fundraiser, she’s almost halfway to her goal. More than 40 people have donated so far.
According to Hanahan Police Chief Dennis Turner, LG’s by the Creek will also serve as the drop off point for anyone that wants to donate to the Ibis Glade fire victims.
The fire happened in the Ibis Glade subdivision in Tanner Plantation.
While extinguishing the flames, two firefighters had to be transported to the hospital due to dehydration.
The fire remains under investigation.
