MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–One person is behind bars for painting illegal graffiti around town, authorities stated.
Quinton Devon Young was arrested Monday and has been charged with three counts of illegal graffiti which carries a penalty of 90 days in jail.
Three days before his arrest, police say they were called to the Sunoco Gas Station on South Live Oak Drive in reference to a person “tagging” the gas pumps and construction cones. A store employee stated that the suspect was possibly with two other people. The worker stated that at one point one of the individuals entered the store to make a purchase.
Through surveillance footage from the store, the store employee was able to identify several of the individuals. After questioning them, police were able to locate Young at his home.
Police say Young admitted to the crimes.
If convicted, Young could also be ordered by the court to pay the cost of removal or make further restitution.
Police say there is still graffiti that may be related to another subject not yet identified. Detectives are continuing to investigate.
