MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Police say they are actively looking for a man who robbed a local gas station early Monday morning.
On July 31, 2017, at about 3:00 a.m., officers with the Moncks Corner Police Department say they responded to a reported armed robbery at the Scotchman convenience store located at 120 West Main Street in Moncks Corner.
After arriving on scene, police say the suspect had already fled on foot.
The store clerk reported that a black male, 5’5”, 150 lbs., came into the store with a shirt wrapped around his face using it as a mask and carrying a silver handgun. He demanded money from the clerk and she gave him approximately $39.00 from the register.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office also responded with their tracking K-9s in an attempt to locate the suspect. Detectives with the Moncks Corner Police Department are currently interviewing witnesses and investigating the robbery.
