BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Deputies say they are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in the Ladson area.
At 5:51 a.m. this morning, deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to 104 Meese Road in Ladson regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male subject in the backyard who had been shot and was no longer alive.
Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury identified the male as 23-year-old Zachary Davanzo.
Detectives are investigating the case and what led up to the shooting.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. More information will be forthcoming after the
autopsy is completed, deputies stated.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has been to the address of the incident location
several times within the past year prior to today. Some of those calls were:

- 01/04/17 – Disturbance complaint
- 07/10/17 – Disturbance compliant
- 07/12/17 – Suspicious person
