MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–Helping children in an emergency just got a little easier thanks to new pediatric equipment Berkeley County EMS received on Wednesday.
Thanks to a donation through Charleston’s 9/11 Heroes Run and a DHEC EMS grant, the agency was able to purchase the Handtevy System.
“With their support, we were able to purchase this life-saving equipment for our pediatric population,” Berkeley County EMS posted on Facebook.
The Handtevy is a revolutionary pediatric resuscitation system that allows healthcare providers to rapidly and accurately respond to any pediatric call with ease.
“It is EXTREMELY humbling to know that our hard work is going to directly impact the community and that our 9/11 Heroes Run – Charleston is helping save children all over Berkeley County!” stated Theresa Faircloth, the race’s director.
This year money raised from the 9/11 Heroes Run in Charleston will benefit the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and the North Charleston Fire Department.
