GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–A murder suspect wanted for a fatal shooting surrendered to investigators with the Goose Creek Police Department on Wednesday after, authorities confirmed.
Corey Singleton, the suspect in the November 22th shooting murder of William Carter on St. James Ave., was booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center.
He will await a bond hearing before a circuit court judge on the charges of murder and attempted murder (x2).
Last month, a GCPD patrol officer heard what was believed to be shots fired from the area of St. James Ave. and Gainesborough Rd.
A second officer located a vehicle that had been shot on St. James Ave. near Stratford Dr.
When they arrived on the scene, police say a male victim in the vehicle was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).
Early in the investigation, police say the responsible party was reported fleeing white in color Mercedes or BMW.
The vehicle was captured on Walmart’s surveillance camera following the victim vehicle out of the parking lot.
It also matched the description of the suspect vehicle provided by witnesses at the shooting scene.
Police say the investigation of this case continues.
