BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–Emergency crews are actively looking for a boater who went missing Friday.
Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol Units are canvassing the area near the Canal Lakes Resort in Cross in hopes of finding 74-year-old Jerry Ferneding.
Ferneding resides in Pinopolis.
Authorities say he it’s believed that he was fishing in the upper lake area. Berkeley County Deputies, DNR Officers, Cross Fire Department, Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department and Berkeley County EMS are all assisting with the search.
