BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–More than 13,000 Berkeley Electric customers were left in the dark for about thirty minutes after losing power Monday.
The outage also resulted in member transactions unable to be temporarily be processed.
The good news is that the power was fully restored by 10:30 a.m. Monday.
According to a spokesperson with Berkeley Electric, a contractor working in the area broke a transmission pole.
Santee Cooper had to drop transmission in order to facilitate the repair.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” stated a company spokesperson via social media. “Thank you for your patience!”
