MONCKS CORNER, S.C.–A man is recovering from his injuries following a fire at a Moncks Corner motel on Sunday morning.
Before 11 a.m., multiple crews were called to the Carolina Inn motel located at 102 S. Highway 52.
Moncks Corner Police Chief Rick Ollic told ABC News 4 that a motel employee dialed 9-1-1 after she saw smoke from coming from one of the rooms.
Crews with the Moncks Corner Fire Department, Whitesville Rural Fire Department and Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
One person was transported to the hospital. The extent of his injuries are not known.
According to Live 5 News, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is trying to determine how the fire started.
