Man Arrested Following Goose Creek Hit & Run with Bicyclist

GOOSE CREEK, S.C.–One man is in jail after Goose Creek police say he struck a bicyclist with his car and then took off.

On Wednesday shortly before 8 p.m., the Goose Creek Police Department responded to Hwy 176 at Button Hall Avenue in reference to a hit and run incident with a bicyclist.

Police say the suspect vehicle fled the scene and entered the Bi-Lo parking lot where a concerned citizen watched as the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Store surveillance showed a white male exit the vehicle and quickly depart the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to Trident Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, identified as Nikolai Rjabov, later turned himself in to police.
