COUNTY, S.C.–Conti Enterprises, Inc., in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), recently announced the following lane closures on I-26 eastbound from mile marker 188 to mile marker 191. The lane closures are necessary to allow for girder erection activities across the eastbound lanes of the interstate. The schedule is as follows:
I-26 Eastbound Right and Left Lanes
• Tuesday, September 4: 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Wednesday, September 5: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Thursday, September 6: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Please note that both lanes of the interstate will not be closed at the same time. One lane of traffic will always be maintained. The lane closure will be switched at some point throughout the night to allow for diaphragm/traffic protection erection.
All scheduled times are dependent on the weather and subject to change.
Drivers traveling near the construction zones are asked to be aware of equipment and crews, new and changing traffic patterns, and to comply with traffic control signs, reductions in speed limits, and message board information.
