BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–A Berkeley County man is in jail in connection with a fatal wreck that occurred about a week and a half ago.

The S.C. Highway Patrol has arrested Brandon Limehouse, 29, of Moncks Corner.

Limehouse has been charged with Felony DUI – Resulting in Death, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Driving Under Suspension 3rd or subsequent offense, ABC Violation and Open Container.

He was also cited for a seatbelt violation.

These charges stem from the fatal collision that occurred on Highway 17A near Black Tom Road in Berkeley County on Thursday, August 30th, 2018.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the victim in that case as 21-year-old Dylan Jacob Thomas of Summerville. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He leaves behind his parents, a sister and two brothers.

“He was a kind hearted, caring, giving soul who gave much laughter and empathy and never expected anything in return,” his obituary reads.

Limehouse was hospitalized after the collision, and upon his release Saturday from Trident Medical Center, Troopers took him into custody and transported him to the Hill-Finklea Detention Center.

Limehouse will have a bond hearing Saturday night at 6:30 p.m.

He apparently is no stranger to the Berkeley County jail. He’s had previous run-ins with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, Bonneau Police Department and Moncks Corner Police Department. Past charges include driving with an open container of beer/wine, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights, driving under suspension (DUS), public disorderly contact, resisting arrest and driving under the influence (DUI)
