The U.S. Postal Service is preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Florence by advising customers that normal service operations in the path of the storm may be affected in the event of unsafe conditions such as high winds, flooding or impassable roads.
The Postal Service has suspended mail delivery and retail operations at some Post Offices in coastal areas now affected by the approach of Hurricane Florence.
All drop shipments and Marketing Mail destined for the Charleston P&DC located at 7075 Cross County Rd, 29423 (3 Digits ZIPs, 294 and 299) will be embargoed until further notice.
Priority Mail Express Mail will be temporarily embargoed beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, for the following offices in Berkeley County:

- Cordesville, 29434
- Cross, 29436

Depending on local conditions, Post Offices may temporarily close their lobbies as Florence makes landfall. If roads become impassable or unsafe for travel, mail delivery services may be curtailed, and mail collection schedules from mail collection boxes could be suspended.
