MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Mayors of Hanahan, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner, and Bonneau recently announced their official endorsements of State Representative and Republican Nominee (SC-1) Katie Arrington – touting Arrington’s strength, convictions, and dedication to the community.
In offering her endorsement, Hanahan Mayor Minnie Newman praised Arrington’s leadership.
“Katie Arrington is a strong, fearless and principled leader,” said Newman. “Hanahan and the Lowcountry would benefit greatly with Katie as congresswoman. I proudly endorse Katie Arrington for Congress and encourage you to vote for her in November.”
Goose Creek Mayor Greg Habib highlighted Arrington’s strong support of local government in his endorsement.
“Like me, Katie Arrington understands and appreciates that the Constitution outlines limited powers of the federal government; and she believes strongly in the importance of local control,” said Habib. “I proudly endorse and support Katie Arrington for Congress, as I know she will always support our state, counties, and municipalities.”
With his endorsement, Moncks Corner Mayor Michael Lockliear focused on Arrington’s conservative principles.
“Moncks Corner and the Lowcountry need a strong conservative representing us in Congress,” said Lockliear. “I proudly endorse Katie Arrington for Congress because I know Katie will be a principled conservative voice and a stronger supporter of Moncks Corner families and businesses like Santee Cooper. She will fight for us and for a stronger, safer and more prosperous Lowcountry.”
Bonneau Mayor Rembert Wrenn stressed Arrington’s dedication to the Lowcountry in endorsing her.
“Katie Arrington is dedicated to the people of the Lowcountry,” said Wrenn. “I proudly endorse Katie Arrington for Congress and know that she will always fight for the needs and wishes of Bonneau and the entire Lowcountry.”
Arrington expressed her appreciation of the Berkeley mayors’ endorsement and her unwavering commitment to work with them as Congresswoman.
Arrington will face off with Democratic candidate, Joe Cunningham, during the general election. He recently scored several Republican endorsements including Jimmy Carroll, mayor of Isle of Palms and Tim Goodwin, mayor of Folly Beach.
