BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–One person has died following a fatal crash in Berkeley County.
According to Cpl. Judd Jones with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred along Highway 17A and Highway 41 in Jamestown.
Around 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, Jones stated that a 2011 Toyota pickup was traveling north on Highway 17A when the driver ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole, a drainage culvert and then a tree.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Judd stated that the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver as Terry Rouse of Mt. Pleasant.
