BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C.–The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that has left one man dead.
Deputies say the shooting was a result of a road rage incident that occurred on Wednesday, at approximately 1:30 p.m. The incident occurred in the Goose Creek area.
The homicide began as an incident of aggressive driving between the driver of a red semi-tractor and a silver or gray sedan on Highway 52 near the intersection of Central Avenue in Goose Creek. After the aggressive driving episode, the driver of the sedan followed the truck to an area on Highway 52 near the Strawberry railroad crossing, just north of Goose Creek. The incident concluded with the truck driver being fatally shot by the driver of the sedan who fled the scene; leaving the victim for dead.
The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital where he later died. The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office will provide the identity of the shooting victim.

We know that there were a lot of motorists driving past the scene between 1:20 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. as the victim was killed by the roadside and we want to talk to anyone who witnessed any part of this tragedy.
This is the sixth homicide in 2019 that has taken place in Berkeley County, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
