BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Berkeley County Coroner George Oliver has identified the driver of a motorcycle who recently lost his life in a traffic accident.
The motorcyclist has been identified as James Litton, 45, of Peabody, Kansas.
On September 15th around 2:45 p.m., Litton’s motorcycle crossed the centerline of Highway 41 and ran off the road, causing him to hit the driver side of a truck that was trying to avoid a collision, according to Cpl. Matt Southern with SCHP.
Litton was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to Oliver, he was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt and reportedly is doing okay.
A passenger on the motorcycle with Litton was taken to the hospital for injuries received during the crash, stated Southern. That person’s condition is unknown.
