MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – After a freak storm in July badly damaged its Moncks Corner location, the DMV will soon open in a new place starting this Wednesday.
The new location will be located at 108-B S. Highway 52 in Moncks Corner, just one mile from the old location.
The CARES vehicle will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. It will reopen at the new Moncks Corner DMV location on October 30, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
“We want to thank the people of Moncks Corner for their patience over the last 3.5 months while using our CARES vehicle to conduct their agency business,” said SCDMV Executive Director Kevin Shwedo to Live 5 News. “While our new site in Moncks Corner will still use our CARES vehicle for the time being, customers will be able to wait in an indoor lobby while we work to renovate the counter space for future service.”
All of the same services will be offered with the exception of motorcycle skills testing. The nearest DMV testing center for that skill is available at the Ladson location.
