BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Old Highway 52 will remain closed from Lewis Plantation Road to Exeter Plantation Road in Moncks Corner due to construction which began earlier this week.
The road will be closed for about five months while SCDOT replaces the bridge over Mulberry Creek, according to Berkeley County officials.
Through traffic will be detoured onto Gaillard Road and Hwy. 52. Local traffic will still be permitted southbound as far as Lewisfield Plantation Road and northbound as far as Exeter Plantation Road.
Signage and other traffic control devices will be onsite to direct motorists. The road is expected to remain closed through April 15, 2020.
This is a state-maintained road, and the project is managed by SCDOT.
