Candlelight Vigil Will Honor Victims Killed By Drunk, Drugged Drivers

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Every day, 29 people in the United States die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol-impaired driver, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. This is one death every 50 minutes.

Drugs other than alcohol, legal and illegal, are also involved in about 16% of motor vehicle crashes, the CDC reports.

To honor victims killed by drunk or drugged drivers, the Berkeley County Prevention Board will host its 30th Annual Candlelight Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m. this Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019.

The event will take place at Moncks Corner AME Church, which is located at 306 West Main St. in Moncks Corner.
