GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – A Goose Creek man who dedicated much of his life to the fire service passed away Feb. 4
According to the Goose Creek Rural Fire Department, Paul L. Tennes, 85, was a life member of the department and a longtime member of its board of directors.
A retired firefighter, he dedicated more than 50 years of service to the community and country. Eight of those years were spent in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
“During visits to Paul and Esther’s home, he liked to speak about the history of the Goose Creek Rural Fire Department and talk about him jumping the fence at any time of the day to answer a call,” the department wrote on its official Facebook page.
He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at the Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University Blvd. in North Charleston at 11 a.m.
