BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A fugitive wanted by federal agents is currently behind bars.
On Wednesday, U.S. Marshals, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with the assistance of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office arrested Oscar Jesus Gonzalez.
According to authorities, he was taken into custody at a home located off of College Park Road in the Ladson area of Berkeley County.
Deputies say Gonzalez is wanted out of Cummings, Georgia for rape.
“We work closely with our federal partners and arrests like this are a result of it.” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said. “If you are a criminal, the time will catch up with you and we will take you to jail.”
Deputies say Capers is known to frequent the Moncks Corner, Summerville, and North Charleston areas. If you know where Capers might be or what has happened to him, you’re asked to please call the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 719-4412.
