HANAHAN, S.C. – Hanahan police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Friday morning. One person has been taken into custody.
Matthew Speck of Hanahan has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and ill-treatment towards animals.
Around 6 a.m., the police department responded to a call at a home on Raptor Drive in Eagle Landing where they found one person dead.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
“Because this is still a very active investigation, we are limited on what information we can release at this time other than this is believed to be a domestic-related homicide,” said Chief Dennis Turner.
