HANAHAN, S.C. – A retired K9 for the Hanahan Police Department recently passed away Friday following an illness.
“We ask that our community to please keep his handler, Chuckie Carnes, and the police department in your prayers as we mourn the passing of K9 Otto,” Chief Dennis Turner said.
According to the police department, Otto served with the police department from 2014 until his retirement in 2018.
During his career, Otto was involved in the apprehension of violent offenders, prison escapees, the seizure of numerous firearms and a vast amounts of illegal narcotics.
