MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – A popular Moncks Corner restaurant has plans to reopen after a fire recently damaged its original location last month.

Esther Cribb, the owner of Music Man’s BBQ in Moncks Corner, told WCBD-TV that she and her workers will temporarily reopen at the former Ladles soup sandwich shop, located at 636 Rembert C. Dennis Blvd., in the Santee Centre plaza.

Ladles permanently closed its doors last year at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Cribb, she hopes to open Music Man’s BBQ in its temporary location sometime in early February.

It may not be until the middle of 2021 that the beloved barbeque restaurant reopens in its original Main Street location in downtown Moncks Corner, Cribb told the TV station.

On Friday night, Dec. 11, as a few employees were closing the restaurant, a fire started in the back kitchen area. The bulk of the fire damage was kept within the kitchen area. However, the lobby area did sustain smoke and water damage, town officials said.

According to Music Man’s BBQ, an account has been set up at Farmers and Merchants Bank under the name of “Music Man’s BBQ.” All of the money donated will go to the employees of the restaurant.

The bank is located at 221 E. Main St. in Moncks Corner.
