BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Library System, in collaboration with South Carolina Legal Services, invites residents to participate in two online Zoom workshops on Thursday, Jan. 14 and Thursday, Jan. 28, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
According to BCLS, South Carolina Legal Services Attorney, Stephanie van der Horst, will conduct both workshops to inform citizens of the CDC Moratorium on Evictions during COVID-19 and the unemployment benefits process during COVID-19 (New extension by Congress).
Residents can choose any of the following dates when registering:
- Jan. 14 – CDC Moratorium on Evictions during COVID-19. Join Attorney, Stephanie van der Horst for a Zoom meeting to discuss what tenants need to know about preventing an eviction during COVID-19. The presentation will cover the basics on the CDC moratorium and what tenants need to do and how long protections will last.
- Jan. 28 – Unemployment Benefits During COVID-19 (New extension by Congress). This workshop will focus on the new extension of unemployment benefits that was recently approved by Congress as well as provide a brief overview of the unemployment system.
