BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – Two fast-growing housing developments in Berkeley County were among the top 50 best-selling master-planned communities in the country in 2020, according to RCLCO Real Estate Advisors’ Top 50 Master Planned Communities of 2020 report.
Cane Bay Plantation ranked No. 7 on the list, with 925 homes sold in the community last year, up from 628 in 2019 – a 59 percent increase. Gramling Brothers is the developer for this community.
Cane Bay Plantation, a growing community nestled in the heart of Berkeley County, is comprised of a variety of neighborhoods with sidewalks, streetlights, walking trails and green space, a YMCA, shopping center and more. Home prices range from the mid-$250K to more than $400K.
Nexton ranked No. 49 on the list, with 456 homes sold in the community last year, up from 331 in 2019 – a 38 percent increase. Newland Communities is the developer for this community.
Located on 5,000 acres in Summerville, Nexton has been recognized as an international model for master planned communities. It features an array of new homes by hand-picked homebuilders, as well as luxury apartments, commercial and office space and destination dining and shopping. Home prices range from $200K to more than $400K.
According to the report, total new home sales among this year’s 50 Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities (MPCs) in the country were 20 percent higher than last year’s list.
Communities in this year’s Top-50 report for which sales data was available in 2019 had an average increase in sales of 40 percent in 2020, the report found.
