GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – The Goose Creek Police Department has hired a new “officer” – this new employee, however, has fur along with four legs.
Meet K-9 Goose, an 8-week-old German Shepherd. Her father, who was imported from Europe, was a working as a K-9 in DeKalb County in Georgia, according to the Goose Creek Police Department.
“K-9 Goose will have a lot of training to go through, but we feel confident she is going to be a great asset to the department,” the Goose Creek Police Department said via social media.
K-9’s have been used in law enforcement for more than a century. In fact, officers first used dogs to assist with patrol and fight crime in 1907 in New York City.
