GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – You know you’re having a bad day when you get stuck in mud along a busy highway currently undergoing construction. But that’s exactly what happened to one pedestrian Thursday.
According to the Goose Creek Fire Department, firefighters were called to the area of St. James Avenue in front of Publix for a report of a pedestrian stuck in the median and unable to get out.
Once on scene, firefighters learned the man was attempting to cross the median along St. James Avenue when he became stuck waist-deep in mud.
Rescue crews used a ladder and backboard to free the man. No injuries were reported.
After freeing him from the mud, firefighters said they gave him a ride home.
