GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Three people were injured following a police chase in Goose Creek on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Goose Creek Police Department, prior to the chase, officers received a 911 tip that a wanted person, Travis Enmon, was in possession of a stolen truck and currently at the Walmart Neighborhood Market parking lot at 215 St. James Avenue. An officer responded and located the truck with no one inside.
The officer then called for assistance and waited for backup before approaching Enmon. While waiting for backup, police said Enmon got into a stolen Ford F-250. Additional officers arrived and believing they had the truck pinned in, they walked up to it. Police said the officers gave multiple verbal commands, which Enmon ignored. Almost striking the officer’s patrol vehicles, the suspect fled the scene. A pursuit ensued.
Enmon continued fleeing until reaching the intersection of Davenport and St. James Avenue. At this intersection, police said Enmon struck an uninvolved driver’s vehicle, causing it to overturn. That’s when police said the chase ended.
Three people, including Enmon, were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. Their injuries are unknown at this time.
Prior to chasing after the suspect on St. James Avenue, police said they verified that Enmon had felony warrants out of the Summerville Police Department for burglary and assault 1st degree. Enmon also has a warrant out of the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department for breach of trust.
Having prior knowledge that Enmon has a Goose Creek address, Goose Creek police officers had been actively searching for him.
