ST. STEPHEN, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the name of the person killed while riding his bicycle earlier this week. He is 50-year-old Michael Gouin of St. Stephen.
According to Coroner George Oliver, Gouin was riding his bicycle on N. Hwy. 52 near the Rediversion Canal in St. Stephen when he was struck by a Toyota truck.
Gouin was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office investigated the incident.
