MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – A Moncks Corner man has been charged in connection with a shooting that left one man dead early Sunday morning.
Askari Rashad Dash, 35, is charged with one count of murder. According to the Moncks Corner Police Department, he’s accused of fatally shooting a man with a handgun while at the Atlantis Restaurant & Lounge, which is at 484 N. US Hwy 52, Suite 110 in Moncks Corner.
The victim has been identified by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office as 25-year-old Dewayne White of Moncks Corner.
According to the Moncks Corner Police Department, Dash is being treated for injuries sustained during the incident and will be lodged at the Berkeley County Detention Center upon release.
Police said they are still interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence in this case.
