BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A band of moderate to locally heavy snow extending from southeast of Manning to Saint Stephen will move across northern Berkeley County through 8:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Locations from Saint Stephen to Bonneau and Alvin could see a quick half-inch of snow and reduced visibilities
of one to two miles as this band moves through.

According to the National Weather Service, webcams along I-95 near Manning continue to show this band has dropped enough snow to quickly cover the ground.

Motorists traveling along Highway 42 and along Highway 52 near Saint Stephen should be alert for possible slick spots.

If you plan to drive or walk, remain alert for slick spots on paved surfaces, the National Weather Service Advises. Slow your driving speed and use care when walking on sidewalks, driveways or parking lots. Slips and falls constitute a leading cause of injuries during winter weather.

Along with the snow, the forecast for Saturday calls for a high near 42 degrees and breezy, with a northwest wind 21 to 24 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent, with a total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight will be clear, with a low around 24 degrees.
