MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Did you know Coastal South Carolina’s lively prehistoric past makes the Lowcountry a unique mecca for a variety of fossils? They range from sharks’ teeth, whale, mastodon, giant sloth, sea urchin and primitive horse fossils!
Both amateur collectors and paleontologists will share their unique and intriguing findings at this two-day, family-friendly event–back for the first time since 2015!
The two-day event will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Saturday, Feb. 26 & Sunday, Feb. 27.
Displays of local fossils and even some exotic fossil material will be on-hand for viewing and exploring.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own finds and have them analyzed by experts, who will be available to help with identification. Children can participate in a fossil dig, and door prizes will be awarded!
The event is FREE to attend and included with price of park admission!
This is a special event day; Season passes, reciprocal passes, free admission passes, group rates, and coupons are not valid during Fossil Fest.
