GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – A new furry, four-legged friend has joined the Goose Creek Police Department.
Solo, a 6-month-old German Shepherd from the Czech Republic, is the department’s newest K9.
According to the police department, the pup was donated by “a very kind person” who wants to see him thrive as a working dog. Police did not reveal the donor’s name.
“She [the donor] had the opportunity to donate this pup to several different agencies but chose us,” the police department to its official Facebook page.
K9 Solo will be handled by Sergeant Jones who currently handles K9 Dax.
Police said since K9 Solo is still very young, he will need additional training. However, once he is ready, K9 Dax will retire, making room for K9 Solo on the team.
