BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – In less than a month, many people will celebrate Easter. The Christian holiday, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, will take place Sunday, April 17.
For families looking for Easter egg hunts throughout Berkeley County for the kids to enjoy, there are quite a few.
Easter eggs were used by early Christians to symbolize parts of the Easter story, representing the empty tomb from which Jesus resurrected, according to The History Channel.
English Heritage also suggests that its origins date back to the late 16th century when the Protestant reformer Martin Luther organized egg hunts for his congregation.
