Berkeley County Library System To Host Food Preservation Class

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) will host Learn About Food Preservation With Gayle Williford, Food Systems and Safety Agent, Clemson University Berkeley County Cooperative Extension, at Moncks Corner Library, Saturday, May 21 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The class will cover the following:

• Preservation
• Canning
• Drying
• Food demos
• Displays

“Spring/Summer Preserving: What’s the best way to save your garden vegetables this year? I will provide answers to your food preservation questions, show you where to find reliable information, perform a blanching demonstration, and teach about tools and equipment on display,” said Gayle Williford, Food Systems and Safety Agent.

Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session regarding vegetables, fruit and other foods.
