Newly Remodeled Goose Creek Food Lion To Hold Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – The newly remodeled Goose Creek Food Lion, located at 142 St. James Ave., in Goose Creek, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, June 15 at 7:45 a.m.

The first 100 customers in line will receive a mystery gift card, free reusable bag and custom apron.

Media are invited to attend to cover the ceremony and take photos of the remodeled store.

The remodeled store includes:

New front end for quick and easy check-out experience
In-store cut fresh fruit
Expanded hot wing bar
Asian hot food bar
Expanded product assortment, including many locally sourced products
Food Lion To Go grocery pickup service

“This amazing opportunity to re-introduce our fully remodeled store to the Goose Creek community is beyond what I could have imagined! I grew up about 20 miles from here, so I feel at home when I’m serving our customers, local food banks, schools and others in our area. Many members of my dedicated team are from here too. Our neighbors deserve this new and improved shopping experience and we’re excited to bring it to them!” Tyrell McPherson, the store manager, said.

In another commitment to the Goose Creek community, Food Lion donated $500 in gift cards to both Gateway Open Arms and Helping Hands of Goose Creek through Food Lion Feeds, the retailer’s hunger relief initiative. Both organizations will also regularly collect food from the store to distribute to neighbors in need through Food Lion Feeds’ industry-leading food rescue program, in which food safe for human consumption is donated to a local feeding agency before the food spoils. Food Lion Feeds has donated more than 900 million meals to neighbors in need since 2014 and has committed to donate 1.5 billion meals by 2025.
