GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – The Goose Creek Police Department announced Wednesday it will join many cities nationwide for National Night Out in August.
Neighborhoods and community members throughout the city are invited to join forces with the department for its fourth annual participation in the crime and drug prevention event.
“Come out and enjoy a great time with us at 519 N. Goose Creek Blvd, by the pond behind the police department,” the police department said in a news release.
National Night Out is designed to generate support for local law enforcement, participation in anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
On Aug. 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., community members in Goose Creek are asked to spend the evening outside with neighbors and the city’s police officers.
“National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in the fight to have a safer city,” the police department said.
The Goose Creek Police Department will have K9 demonstrations, SWAT, Bike Patrol, Safetypup, and members of the Goose Creek Fire Department will show off their fire engine.
There will also be music, a dunk tank, free refreshments and gift bags for the kids.
