CROSS, S.C. – One person has died and another seriously injured following a late-night crash Saturday in Cross.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the driver of a Jeep Compass was traveling east on Ranger Dive and ran off the right side of the road and overturned.

The driver and a front-seat passenger were ejected from the SUV.
The driver died in the collision while the passenger was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, Master Trooper David Jones said.
Troopers didn’t say what caused the SUV to veer off the road or if the driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts.
On Monday, Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner Darnell Hartwell identified the driver as Maria Pinckney White, 36, of Pineville.
The investigation is ongoing.
