GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – Police recently arrested a Goose Creek man accused of the sexual exploitation of minors, South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Monday.
Jonas Firmino Eugeni Da Silva, 22, has been charged with one felony count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.
Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators along with the Goose Creek Police Department arrested him on April 19.
According to Wilson, investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Da Silva.
Investigators said Da Silva possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
This case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
