49 Tickets Handed To Drivers During One-Day Clements Ferry Traffic Enforcement: BCSO

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and Charleston police recently issued nearly 50 tickets during its Clements Ferry Traffic enforcement operation.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted a traffic safety enforcement operation in collaboration with the Charleston Police Department.

The enforcement, which took place May 16, was a one-day saturation with a special emphasis on the Clements Ferry Road corridor, the sheriff’s office said.

Berkeley County deputies along with CPD conducted the traffic enforcement following complaints regarding roadway safety and speed-related collisions along the Clements Ferry corridor.

“We have received numerous complaints about increased speeds and aggressive drivers along Clements Ferry Road.” Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said in a news release. “We want to make it clear to motorists that we are always around, and we will continue to conduct proactive patrols to target dangerous drivers. Every motorist deserves to arrive to their destination – unharmed.”

The total results from the operation were 49 tickets and 40 warnings.
