BONNEAU, S.C. – A Berkeley County man faces prison time following his arrest for criminal solicitation of a minor.
According to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Goose Creek Police Department arrested Richard Edward Mitchell, 54, of Bonneau on Monday.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department also assisted with the investigation.
Investigators said Mitchell solicited people he believed to be minors for sex.
His case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute Mitchell’s case.
If guilty, he could face up to 10 years behind bars.
