MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley will host a town hall in Berkeley County next week.
The town hall will take place Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Berkeley Electric Cooperative, which is located at 1732 Hwy. 52 in Moncks Corner.
Haley will be joined by a panel of South Carolina energy leaders to discuss the future of power supply and how the fast-growing state will meet the electricity demands of the future.

The panel will include Mike Fuller, President and CEO of Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Jimmy Staton, President and CEO of Santee Cooper, and Rob Hochstetler, President and CEO of Central Electric Power Cooperative, Inc.
Doors to the free event open at 12:30 p.m. The public is invited to the end but reservations, which can be made at this link, are required.
In February, Haley announced plans to run for president of the United States. She is one of 10 GOP candidates to do so. Despite mounting his legal trouble, early polls show former president Donald Trump ahead by as much as 50 percent among Republican voters.
