Lost Boaters Rescued From Lake Moultrie

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – First responders rescued several boaters lost on Lake Moultrie over the weekend.

According to Moncks Corner Rural Fire Department, just before 11 p.m. Saturday, its firefighters were called to assist with finding them.

Central Berkeley Fire & EMS, North Berkeley Fire District, East Berkeley Fire District, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and SCDNR also actively searched for the boaters.

Eventually, DNR made contact with a private citizen who had recovered the missing boaters, firefighters said.

The boaters were returned to shore and EMS evaluated them for injuries.
