
GOOSE CREEK, S.C. – A popular Florida-based grocery chain has plans to open a new store in Berkeley County.
“We are pleased to announce that Publix Super Markets has executed a lease on a new store location in Goose Creek,” said Jared Glover, a spokesperson for the grocery chain.
The new store will be located at The Market Place at Carnes Crossroads, which is on the southwest corner of Hwy. 17 Alt. and Hwy. 176.
The store will be over 48,000 square feet and is projected to open in 2025. When it opens it will be the seventh Publix store in Berkeley County.

The grocery chain also has plans to open a store in Nexton in 2024. Other current Berkeley County store locations include Moncks Corner, Daniel Island, Goose Creek and Wando area.
There are presently 69 Publix stores in South Carolina.
